Thinking of a trip to Bali Island?  If you’re thinking of spending some time a few degrees south of the equator, this Indonesian island may be the ticket you want.  Considered a paradise of beaches and palm trees, the island is centrally located, with flights to Jakarta taking about an hour and a half, while flights to the city-state of Singapore and Perth, Australia, are only a bit longer at two and a half to three hours.  It takes four and half hours to reach Hong Kong, and about five and a half to six hours to land in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia.  However, if you want to get back to New York, there’s no fast method; seems the best route might be to fly to Hong Kong and then from there to the United States, which will take nearly a full day in air time.  Still, Bali’s remote location for most people is part of the attraction and a reason to find a beach hotel Bali offers its visitors.

The entire population of Bali is a bit over three million with nearly four hundred thousand living in Denpasar.  The majority of the population live in the Southern coastal region and  the area continues to grow.  Generally, the temperature in Bali ranges from 68 to 93 degrees Fahrenheit.  In the winter, from December to March, Bali experiences a monsoon season, but for the most part it rains primarily in the early in the morning or early in the afternoon, so no matter what your plans, you should have easily have time out during the day.

To get out and explore the islasnd, you can rent either a car or bike.  As long as you have a GPS or a map, roaming around Bali should be easy.  There should always be locals who can help with directions if you get turned around.  For a car like a Toyota Camry, it should cost only about 30 to 40 US dollars, as long as you rent from Denpasar.  At the airport that may rise to as much as 60 US dollars.  If a bike is more to your liking, you can rent them for as little as 8 to 10 US dollars a day.
