Georgia Sightings

under Travel

Have you just traveled to the most haunted state in America? I suppose that that kind of information is only good if all who see a ghost in their state actually tells someone who is keeping tabs. According to the Haunted American Tours company Louisiana is the most haunted state as of 2009. Looks like they have the most people willing to call them and tell them they have seen a ghost. There are plenty of hotels across the country that claim to be haunted. I love the ones that are hotels now but used to be asylums. There are plenty of people making bank on a good ghost story. The books on the matter are endless and you can find them on Amazon.com.

I have had some fun looking into the matter and have found some great stories in Georgia. Savannah makes the claim to be the most haunted city in the United States so I looked there. So most of the sightings seem to be in the moonlight or early morning fog. There is a little black cat ghost that has been scene on Largo Drive. Witnesses believe that cat had been disturbed from its grave during the building of some apartments and now roams endlessly up and down the street. I haven’t seen it myself but I like the story about the spooky tattooed ghost that rides a black motorcycle on Eisenhower Drive. Many people have claim to see him in his leather jacket as it rode through there car. There is still a revolutionary battle going on Skidaway Island. This battle between to soldiers has been seen by different people for two hundred years and the story seems to stay consistent.

From Calhoun to St Mary’s, Georgia believes it is one of the most haunted states in the country and all of the cities seem to have some sightings. No matter what city you are ghost hunting in there are plenty of elegant hotels nestled in Georgia to get a good nights sleep. If your interested you can find a haunted one. If you want some sleep I suggest finding one that is not.
